The PSPP’s blog is passing throw some changes. I’m starting to put more informations and texts which are not related directly with Windows versions of PSPP. I want to put some tutorials, links to classes and other useful infos.

Meanwhile, the translations may became inconsistent with the new shape.

  • PSPP adopts Translationproject

The main PSPP developers decided to adopt Translationproject as main tool to the software internationalization.

Until now there are two members on the group. I’m translating it to Brazilian Portuguese, and Harry Thijseen to Dutch.

Information about how many strings are done already on each language can be found here.

According with Google Analytics, Brazilians represents only 20% from all the blog visitors.
Following we have Germany, USA, Spanish and Dutch. Because of it I speak with some friends and we start to translate it.

The main pages are done, and we are working on the other posts. To change de language, just choose the new one on the side menu.

If someone want to help, just send me the translated text.

  • ROC, Logistic Regression and the new output system!

Posted on julho 17th, 2009 michel No comments

    Hello everyone.

There is good news on the version of PSPP in development. The first and most important news is that a new output system is being developed. It is very similar to the SPSS output system, and you will be able to copy and paste the result directly from PSPP to, for example, Microsoft Office.

Because this is so new, I believe that it will take some time to finish. Currently this feature is not ready for use. Once it is minimally functional, I will provide a facility for testing so you can monitor the changes.

The second change is the implementation of a function for calculating the ROC curve. More information about this here.

The third and latest news is a new algorithm for calculation of a covariance matrix. When this algorithm is implemented, it will be very easy to implement the logistic regression and other functions that make use of it.

I hope that in August it will be possible to experience the majority of these new features in versions for Linux and Windows.
